About the event
Dear Members,
As you know, AFCC-MN has recently committed to taking a more active role, and becoming a more active voice, in conversations at the State Capitol that affect families, and especially children, in conflict. Our first big step in this direction is to encourage our members to meet with lawmakers directly. We have organized an important “Day at the Capitol” event for members on Monday, April 24, 2023, from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. We’ll start with a free lunch and a policy and political briefing, then break into small groups to meet directly with House and Senate members to discuss our shared issue priorities.
We anticipate the current session may see proposed legislation on issues such as a presumption for equally shared parenting time, issues affecting the Guardian ad Litem program, and issues relating to parentage generally.
As members of AFCC, and as experienced and knowledgeable professionals, your advocacy on these issues is both influential and vital. We hope you will take this exciting opportunity to engage with members of the Minnesota House and Senate and be part of the conversation.

There is no cost to attend, and our team will pre-schedule legislative meetings on your behalf and have all materials ready for you. It is very easy – and very important – to attend. We hope to see you there.
Sincerely,
