Name: Dr. Kade Goepferd
Title: Chief Education Officer, Clinical Director, Equity and Inclusion
Pediatrician, Gender Health Program
Kade Goepferd, MD, is the Chief Education Officer at Children’s Minnesota and founder of Children’s Gender Health Program. For over 20 years, Dr. Goepferd has been a leader in the LGBTQIA+ community who is driving equitable care for LGBTQIA+ youth, particularly transgender and gender diverse youth, and is a sought-after speaker and trainer on these topics. In 2019, Dr. Goepferd launched the Children’s Gender Health Program, the largest multispecialty exclusively pediatric program in the region. In October of 2020, their first TED talk, “The revolutionary truth about kids and gender identity” was released by TEDx Minneapolis. As an advocate and educator, they have received multiple professional and community awards including two special recognition awards from the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2019 and 2023 and the distinguished Ellen Perrin Award for Excellence in LGBTQ Health and Wellness from the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2022, they also served as Grand Marshall for the Twin Cities Pride Parade in June 2023. When they are not advocating for kids professionally, they are busy parenting 3 kids of their own, including coaching youth basketball year-round.
