This program explores the rapidly evolving AI landscape and its growing impact on ADR and family law professionals. Participants will learn practical ways to use AI tools in mediation, client communication, case preparation, brainstorming, summarization, and practice management, while also examining key ethical considerations such as confidentiality, bias, accuracy, informed consent, and the importance of human oversight. The session will also address best practices for responsible AI use in family-focused dispute resolution settings and highlight emerging trends professionals should be watching as technology continues to evolve.
We are welcoming Susan E. Guthrie who is a nationally recognized attorney, mediator, podcaster, author, and legal tech educator with more than 35 years of experience in family law and dispute resolution. She is the Immediate Past Chair of the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution and is widely known for her work helping legal and ADR professionals integrate AI and emerging technologies into practice ethically and effectively. Susan is a frequent speaker for bar associations, courts, law firms, and professional organizations across the country on topics including mediation, family dispute resolution, practice innovation, and artificial intelligence in professional practice. She is also the host of the top-ranked Divorce & Beyond podcast and author of the best-selling Practice Playbook Series.
