Learning Objectives:

After participating in this conference, attendees should be able to:

  1. Identify 3 ways that substance use impacts adolescents
  2. Identify 3 best practices when approaching cases involving adolescents
  3. Apply practical tips to improving work on cases involving adolescents
  4. Describe the impact of the pandemic on parenting in the short and long term

Keynote Speaker:

Stephanie Tabashneck, PsyD, JD

Dr.  Stephanie Tabashneck is a forensic psychologist and attorney in  Cambridge, MA. She is a Senior Fellow in Law and Applied Neuroscience at  the Center for Law, Brain and Behavior at Harvard Medical School and  the Petrie-Flom Center for Health Law Policy at Harvard Law School. She  is the director of a neurolaw library affiliated with Harvard Medical  School. She is on the Ethics Committee for the American Psychological  Association and president-elect of the Massachusetts Association of  Family and Conciliation Courts. She presents regionally and nationally on psychology and law topics. Recent publications include the book Substance Use and Parenting: Best Practices for Family Court Practitioners, a white paper on the Science of Late Adolescence: A Guide for Judges, Attorneys, and Policy Makers, and an article on the opioid crisis and family drug courts.
