Join AFCC-MN for the Spring Conference Shame Free Diversity training lead by Lambers Fisher, LMFT, MDiv. This program will be a mix of Fisher's learning modules covering the Relevance of Cultural Competency, Practical Strategies for Reducing Offenses and Repairing Relationships, and Common Cultural Experiences and Misunderstandings.


Learning Objectives:

  • Identify 3 personal and professional benefits of cultural competency

  • Articulate how cultural competence progresses

  • Gain a practical, attainable definition of multicultural competence Identify common diversity myths and misunderstood diversity vocabulary

  • Complete a cultural self-assessment

  • Identify micro-aggressions in everyday life

  • Gain strategies for reducing and repairing offenses

  • Clarify benefits and risks of professional self-disclosure


Speakers/Bios:

Lambers Fisher is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and dynamic national speaker on diversity and inclusion. He is the author of "Diversity in Clinical Practice: A Practical & Shame-free Guide to Reducing Cultural Offenses and Repairing Cross-Cultural Relationships" (PESI Publishing, Aug. 10, 2021). Lambers has an energetic but relaxed style which engages audiences of all sizes and empowers participants to gain increased understanding and confidence in navigating cross-cultural relationships.
