Address: Nordic - 729 Washington Ave, N, Minneapolis, MN 55401

 

Parking: Unfortunately, we can not provide parking, however, there is ample street parking on Washington Ave and surrounding area. Street parking is available on Washington Ave, 3rd Street and surrounding area (see maps to the right)

 

Paid parking is available in the Nordic Ramp/Sable building, $12 for 3-4 hours: 728 N 3rd St, Minneapolis, MN 55401 (please proceed to any unmarked stalls). Enter the parking ramp on 3rd Street (runs parallel to Washington Ave) part of 3rd street is closed at the moment, so if headed North on Washington, take a left on N 8th Ave and then a left on 3rd Street. Walk across the courtyard to the Nordic building. After entering through the front doors from the Plaza (South side of the Nordic), you will take an immediate left towards FRGMNT Coffee. The conference room is located to the left of FRGMNT Coffee's counter.

Hello registrants for AFCC-MN's 2023 Parenting Consultant Training! 

 

Susan, Jennifer, and I look forward to meeting you all next Monday. We are excited to help prepare you for this vital ADR role. In this email you will find logistical details to help you prepare for a short week of intense (but fun!) training. If you have additional questions which are not addressed below, please feel free to contact me directly by email (drkentkodalen@gmail.com) or phone (651-675-8477). 

 

Schedule: This course takes place over 4 days (October 30, 31, and November 1, 2). Successful completion requires full attendance to all of the training as outlined below. If you are unable to meet these participation requirements, please let us know as soon as possible. 

    Monday, (10/30) 9:00am to 4:00pm

    Tuesday (10/31) 9:00am to 1:30pm (early release to allow ample time for trick or treating!)

    Wednesday (11/1) 9:00am to 4:00pm

    Thursday (11/2) 9:00am to 4:00pm

 

Course Materials: Prior to the start of training, all registrants will receive a separate email which includes a link to a Google Drive that contains all course materials. Registrants will have full access to this Drive until December 1, 2023. 

 

Participation Online: By now, each of you has received an email containing a Zoom link for this training. This link (also included below), which is to be used for each day of training, lists an 8:00am start time. This is to allow trainers to communicate prior to the beginning of our training day. Online participants may log in any time after 8:00am, but no later than 8:50am. Online participants in the waiting room will be "let in" shortly before the 9:00am start time.

Online participants must keep their cameras "on" and trainers must be able to see you all times during the training.

Participation In-person: For those of you joining in person, please plan to arrive at the training site no later than 8:45am.

 

Location/address: This training has been moved to the main conference room of The Nordic building. The Nordic shares a Plaza with the Loose Wiles Building (home to the offices of OurFamilyWizard). After entering through the front doors from the Plaza (South side of the Nordic), you will take an immediate left towards FRGMNT Coffee. The conference room is located to the left of FRGMNT Coffee's counter.

Snacks: For those joining in person, we will provide water and snacks. If there are any dietary restrictions, please let us know. For those joining online, please search for snacks in your refrigerator. 

 

Lunch: We will break for a 45 minute lunch each day, except 10/31 when lunch was shortened to 30 minutes to accommodate the early release. There are numerous options for dining within close walking distance of the training site.
